Ouille Beach, also known as Plage Ouille, is a secluded and peaceful beach situated at the southern end of the picturesque town of Argelès-sur-Mer, on the rocky Vermilion Coast of France.
The beach is set below the cliffs and is known for its unique natural features. It is characterized by a sandy and pebble landscape, with a small creek running into the sea. The clear water of the beach makes it a perfect location for engaging in water activities such as snorkelling and diving. Its location amidst the rocky coastline also makes it a popular starting point for exploring the beautiful coves along the coast.
In terms of amenities, Ouille Beach is known for its unique club offering direct rentals. It also has a nearby campsite, providing a convenient option for accommodation to visitors. One of the unique features of this beach is that it is dog-friendly, allowing visitors to bring their pets along for their beach outing.
Getting to Ouille Beach involves a bit of a hike, but it is accessible by foot via a flat path that takes about 10 minutes to traverse. There is also a steep, yet tarmacked, road leading to the beach. For those who prefer a more private access, there is an option available from the nearby Les Amandiers campsite.
For visitors traveling by car, there is a public and free parking area available in front of the Camping Les Criques de Porteils. From the parking area, a path on the right side of the camping area, marked by a white barrier, leads to the beach after a short 5-minute walk.
Despite its natural beauty and the amenities it offers, Ouille Beach remains a tranquil and secluded spot. This secluded nature of the beach allows visitors to enjoy a peaceful beach experience away from the crowd.
