Alkaya Kumsal is a beach located in the central district of Tekirdağ, Turkey, specifically in the Hürriyet neighborhood. This serene beach is known for its natural beauty and tranquility, making it an ideal spot for those seeking a peaceful environment. It is also a popular place for walking and bike riding due to a newly built path by the Süleymanpaşa Municipality that stretches along the coastline. Despite ongoing construction, this path is already accessible to visitors.
The beach is characterized by a relatively small area with occasional hard, stony spots. The sea at Alkaya Kumsal is shallow, suitable for those who prefer less deep waters. However, it is noteworthy that the beach may require improved cleanliness as the sea has been reported to be polluted at times, with an odor that some visitors might find disturbing.
Alkaya Kumsal offers a range of amenities including a barbecue area by the sea and free camellia, although these are limited in number, advising visitors to arrive early. Managed by the municipality, the beach also houses a facility offering various services at affordable rates.
Adjacent to the beach, there is Alkaya Plajı Kamp Alanı, a paid camping facility offering the opportunity to camp in tents or caravans. The campsite provides additional amenities such as a restaurant, buffet, toilets, and showers. It also accommodates 50 tent spots and a parking area for 50 vehicles, making it suitable for families.
The beach and the campsite are easily accessible from the city center and are close to residential areas, making it convenient for visitors. However, due to its popularity, the beach can get crowded, particularly during peak times.
