Anse de Rospico is a picturesque beach situated on the Nevez peninsula in the region of Brittany, specifically in the town of Névez, Finistère. The beach is recognized for its distinctive size, measuring 200 meters in depth and 40 meters in width. Its small size contributes to an intimate and less crowded atmosphere, even during the popular summer months.
The beach possesses a wild and rugged charm, surrounded by rocky cliffs and clear waters. Visitors can enjoy the white sandy shores and explore the pools among the rocks that form during low tide. The waters are generally calm with small waves, making it a suitable place for swimming. However, the presence of numerous rocks also offers an opportunity for snorkeling, despite the chilly water temperature and limited fish visibility.
Anse de Rospico is also home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, particularly in the coastal area. The beach is fed by a river, which provides excellent rock pooling opportunities although visitors are advised to be cautious after heavy rainfall due to potential sewage smells.
Basic amenities are available for visitors, including toilets and showers. There is also a small café situated on the left side of the beach, offering tapas and a panoramic view of the beach. For those planning to extend their visit, there is a nearby bar and restaurant providing a pleasant view over the beach.
The beach is accessible by following the D77 road from the center of Névez towards Port Manec’h, continuing for approximately 900 meters until reaching Rospiko or the chaumières de Kerascoët. Additionally, the beach can be reached by following the GR34 hiking trail, also known as the 'Customs Officer' path, which stretches over 2000km from Mont-Saint-Michel to Saint-Nazaire. This trail is popular among hikers, with the beach serving as a scenic stop along the way.
Parking is conveniently available along the roadside, making it accessible for visitors who are driving. Despite its natural beauty and various attractions, the beach is not well-maintained. However, this does not significantly detract from the overall visitor experience at Anse de Rospico.
