Ba Làng An Beach is a popular tourist destination located at the outermost point of Ba Làng An Cape, in the Phú Quý hamlet of Bình Châu commune, Bình Sơn district, Quảng Ngãi province. The beach is renowned for its untouched and rustic beauty, with its clear waters offering an inviting spot for visitors to swim. The beach derives its name from three villages that once existed in the area: An, An Hải, and An Vĩnh, An Kỳ.
One of the unique features of Ba Làng An Beach is the dormant volcano near Ba Làng An Cape. This volcano is home to various types of seaweed and colorful coral reefs, which are found on the sedimentary rocks outside the volcano. The surrounding areas also offer an adventurous experience for visitors who wish to explore on a motorbike.
The beach is also home to the Ba Làng An lighthouse, which was constructed in 1982. This cylindrical lighthouse stands at a height of 36.4 meters and serves as a navigation aid for ships in the Quảng Ngãi sea area, with a visibility range of 17 nautical miles. The lighthouse is not only functional but also serves as a tourist attraction. Visitors can ascend the 80 steps to the top of the lighthouse for a small entrance fee and enjoy a panoramic view of the sea and the surrounding areas. The lighthouse also holds historical significance for the locals as it bears witness to their resistance against foreign invaders.
Despite its popularity, Ba Làng An Beach has managed to maintain a peaceful atmosphere. However, cleanliness, particularly concerning plastic waste, has been noted as an issue. Visitors are therefore encouraged to be mindful of the environment and help maintain the cleanliness of the beach.
During holidays and festivals, Ba Làng An Beach attracts a large number of visitors. The beach is easily accessible from Quảng Ngãi city. Visitors can take the newly opened Mỹ Trà - Mỹ Khê road for about 20 kilometers to Mỹ Khê, then continue along National Highway 24B towards Sa Kỳ port, and then turn left to reach Ba Làng An Cape. Despite its easy access, the beach is not overly crowded, allowing visitors to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing visit.
