Bamboo Beach

Bamboo Beach, also known as Ao Mai Pai, is a serene and secluded beach situated in Ko Lanta, Thailand. It is renowned for its clear blue waters, strong waves, particularly in May, and a shoreline framed by rocks. The beach's quiet and tranquil atmosphere is often maintained due to a low number of visitors at any given time.

The beach is easily accessible to visitors. They can park their motorbikes on the roadside and descend less than 50 meters to reach the beach. For those with bikes, a dirt track leading to the beach is also available. Despite its remote location, Bamboo Beach is not devoid of activities. It offers opportunities for swimming, snorkeling, diving, kayaking, and beach volleyball.

In addition to its recreational offerings, Bamboo Beach is also an attractive spot for nature lovers and photographers. It is surrounded by a wild tropical forest and hills, providing numerous walking tracks and photo opportunities. The beach also features natural shade, courtesy of the surrounding vegetation, enhancing its appeal to visitors.

However, visitors should exercise caution due to the potential for strong waves and cloudy water, which could obscure rocks, making swimming hazardous. Additionally, the beach may sometimes be littered with rubbish brought in by the sea.
