Playa Barranco de Enmedio

Playa Barranco de Enmedio is a small, tranquil cove located in the less urbanized outskirts of Almuñécar, a coastal municipality in Granada, Andalusia, Spain. It is somewhat remote from Almuñécar's main area, making it a peaceful destination for those seeking a quiet beach experience. The beach's natural characteristics include a rocky area, dark sand, gravel, and calm waters, making it an excellent spot for scuba diving. However, the abundance of rocks might not make it the best choice for activities like surf casting. The cove spans approximately 160 to 190 meters in length and is about 30 to 31 meters wide. Playa Barranco de Enmedio is not usually crowded, even during peak season, attracting only a moderate number of visitors due to its somewhat isolated location. Despite its remoteness, the beach does offer some hospitality services, including a restaurant that serves homemade food on a terrace. Parking at Playa Barranco de Enmedio is somewhat unique, with visitors allowed to park directly on the beach. However, the parking lot, which has less than 50 spaces, is unguarded. Visitors should note that the road leading to the beach is not in the best condition, and it can be challenging to navigate, especially after rainfall. Turning around might not be possible, so visitors are advised to drive slowly. Reaching Playa Barranco de Enmedio can be difficult, whether by foot, car, or boat. The nearest road is CN-340. Unfortunately, the beach does not have access for disabled individuals. The closest medical facility is Hospital Santa Ana, located in the nearby town of Motril.
