Barricane Beach

Barricane Beach is a picturesque location known for its beautiful scenery and rock formations. The beach is made of fine shale, with rock pools amongst the characterful rocks on the walk down. However, when the tide is out, visitors can enjoy a practically empty expanse of sand. The beach is also characterized by clean and clear waters, making it a popular destination for paddle boarding, bodyboarding, and surfing. However, visitors are advised to be cautious of the current, which can potentially drag them towards the rocks. The beach is well-maintained, with no litter reported. Amenities at the beach include a small takeaway cafe offering sandwiches and other refreshments, food and ice cream vans, toilets, showers to rinse off, and a shop for water wear. The beach is also dog-friendly, especially to the left side of the water stream during the summer holidays. Parking is available overlooking the beach, with a charge for the whole day. However, spaces can be limited, and visitors may need to walk a short while to reach the beach if they cannot find a space on the road above. Despite these potential challenges, Barricane Beach remains a popular destination, and can be crowded, especially during peak times.
