Brancaster Beach

Brancaster Beach is a stunning sandy beach, known for its vast expanse and natural beauty. The beach is incredibly long, with the tide going out for what seems like miles, providing plenty of space for visitors. The sand is pure and soft, making it perfect for families to play games such as cricket. The beach is also home to a variety of shells and wildlife, including seals which can be seen resting on the river bank inside the Nature Reserve boundary during the hot months of the year. Visitors are advised to bring binoculars to spot oyster catchers and curlews. The beach is equipped with a car park located right by the beach. However, it can get busy during peak times, with visitors sometimes having to wait to enter. The parking fee is £5 for 2 hours and £10 for the whole day. There are also toilets located near the car park for visitor convenience. In terms of amenities, there is a food kiosk and a small coffee shop that sells drinks, basic food, and beach essentials for kids. Despite the beach's popularity, it is possible to find quieter spaces by walking left or right from the entrance of the car park. The beach also allows dogs all year round and is a popular spot for barbecues. However, there are no bins provided, so visitors are expected to take their rubbish back with them. Visitors are advised to check for tidal flood news before visiting and to bring bug spray to protect against midges. Despite its popularity, the beach maintains a peaceful atmosphere, with visitors often able to enjoy beautiful sunsets in the late summer months.
