Burnham-On-Sea Beach

Burnham-On-Sea Beach is a quaint seaside destination located in an old-fashioned seaside town. The beach is known for its cleanliness and length, offering a quiet retreat for visitors. However, visitors should be aware of the clay-like quicksand areas and soft mudflats that can be found at low tides. The beach is not typically crowded, providing a peaceful atmosphere for those who prefer a quieter seaside experience. It's an ideal location for activities such as walking, paddling, and even paddle boarding from the lighthouse end at high tide into the sunset. However, swimming is not recommended at low tide due to the fast-running tide. There are restrictions on dogs on the beach, with a total ban in sector 1 and a ban from May to September in sectors 2 and 3. However, the far north end of the esplanade allows dogs, providing plenty of space for them to run freely. Parking is readily available around the area, with free parking on the esplanade road during the winter. Despite the lack of arcades or shops, the town has some quirky shops worth exploring. The beach is easily accessible, with reasonably priced parking close by. However, the weather can sometimes be chilly with a sea breeze, so visitors are advised to dress appropriately.
