Cabarita Beach

Cabarita Beach is a picturesque location in Northern New South Wales, Australia, just an hour's drive from Surfers Paradise in Queensland. The beach is divided into three distinct sections, each offering a unique experience. The northern section is a long stretch of ocean beach with surf patrols, making it a family-friendly spot. However, parking is limited in this area. The middle section of the beach is characterized by its rocky cliffs, while the southern section is favored by board riders. This southern area also features a large grassy hill with a boardwalk leading to a whale viewing platform at the top. Both these sections are not patrolled but maintain a family-friendly atmosphere. There are more parking options available here, but finding a spot can be challenging on popular days. All three sections of Cabarita Beach are adorned with Pandanus and Casuarina trees, providing ample shade. There are also bench tables and barbecue facilities available for visitors. The beach is not wheelchair-friendly, but agile parents can usually manage to get a pram onto the beach. One of the highlights of visiting Cabarita Beach is the opportunity to see whales during the season. The best time to visit is in July, when the weather is typically clear and sunny. A popular activity among visitors is to take an early morning walk up to the headland for a chance to spot these magnificent creatures.
