Playa Caña Gorda

Playa Caña Gorda, also known as Beach Caña Gorda, is a beautiful and popular beach located within the Dry Forest of Guánica, Puerto Rico. It is characterized by its shady mangrove surroundings, palm trees that provide natural shade, and white-sand shores kissed by intense-blue waters. This makes it a popular destination for a variety of activities like snorkeling, swimming, hiking, and even kayaking.

The beach carries the Blue Flag status, a symbol of its cleanliness and effective environmental management. However, the cleanliness of the beach and its facilities can vary, and visitors occasionally report issues such as litter and a strong smell from the water.

Playa Caña Gorda offers a wide array of amenities for visitors, including food vendors, chair rentals, picnic tables, restrooms, changing facilities, showers, and a convenience store. While some of these facilities may appear run down, they remain functional. The beach is particularly suitable for families with children as it provides a fenced and relatively safe environment. Furthermore, for additional recreational activities, a basketball court is also available.

There is a parking facility at Playa Caña Gorda, which is free of charge. However, a small fee is required for entry to the beach, and it is recommended to bring cash for this as there are no ATM or banking facilities nearby.
