Cala Cap Roig

Cala Cap Roig is a picturesque beach situated in the town of Sant Antoni de Calonge, within the region of Baix Empordà, in Girona province. It is named after the islet of Cap Roig, which divides the beach into two distinct areas. One of the defining characteristics of this cove is its reddish tone, created by the feldspar crystals that compose the rock. This feature, combined with the surrounding pine trees, provides a unique and visually stunning setting for visitors.

The beach is composed of coarse sand, and it has rocky depths. These natural conditions make Cala Cap Roig an excellent option for diving enthusiasts. Despite its beauty, the beach has some elements that might not be to everyone's liking. For instance, the presence of seaweed can sometimes affect the swimming experience, and the coarse sand might not be comfortable for all. Additionally, entering the water can be challenging due to the rocky entrance.

The beach is accessible by foot via the coastal path, and for those coming by car, parking is available relatively close to the beach.
