Plage d’Audresselles, Audresselles, is a picturesque beach nestled in the coastal village of Audresselles, situated in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region of France. This region, with its capital city being Lille, is bordered by the English Channel and the North Sea to the west and north, and shares a border with Belgium to the northeast. Its oceanic climate is characterized by mild winters and cool summers, with the temperature variations increasing as one moves away from the coast.
The beach itself is split into two sections, separated by a rocky area known as "La CĂ´te de fer." The first beach, made up of pebbles, extends towards Ambleteuse. Free parking is available at the entrance of the village from Boulogne-sur-Mer, providing easy access to this beach. The second beach, referred to as "Plage du Noirda," stretches towards Cap Gris-Nez. A small parking lot on the left side when exiting Audresselles towards Wissant serves as the access point for this beach. Both beaches are unsupervised and visitors are advised to exercise caution due to strong currents.
Plage d’Audresselles, Audresselles, is approximately one kilometer in length, composed of a mix of gravel and sandy patches exposed at low tide. Despite the lack of lifeguard supervision, the beach is frequented for water activities and walking. It is also an excellent spot for observing local wildlife, such as seals near the shore during quieter hours, as well as the return of fishing boats, known as flobarts, at sunset.
The village of Audresselles, characterized by traditional fishermen's houses, offers a variety of seafood restaurants. The busiest section of the beach is its central part, especially during the summer months. However, the southern part of the beach, which leads to Ambleteuse via the GR120 hiking trail, tends to be less crowded. The beach provides beautiful views of the sea and the nearby Fort Vauban d'Ambleteuse. Despite its popularity, the beach maintains a peaceful and serene atmosphere, making it an ideal destination for those seeking tranquility.
