Debeljak Cove Beach, situated in Premantura, is renowned for its scenic beauty and serene environment. It is nestled within Debeljak Cove on the eastern side of Cape Kamenjak. The beach is characterized by its unique combination of a rocky terrain and a sandy sea floor. It presents a picturesque setting with large stone slabs and a clear, calm sea that gradually deepens from the shore.
The central area of the beach is covered in gravel and pebbles, while the sides are marked by flat, rocky surfaces. These areas are ideal for sunbathing, especially for adventurous individuals who prefer natural surroundings over man-made luxuries. The sandy bottom of Debeljak Cove allows for safe anchoring, with an anchor drop depth of approximately 4 meters.
Despite its rocky nature, the beach is easily accessible and perfectly suitable for families with children. The shallow waters, extending about 150 to 200 meters from the shore, provide a safe area for children to play. However, due to the presence of slippery rocks and sea urchins near the shore, visitors are advised to wear swimming shoes for safety.
During the peak season, Debeljak Cove Beach can become crowded with visitors, who mainly access the beach by road. Visitors can reach the beach by car and then continue their journey on foot.
The beach lacks shade, so visitors should come prepared with sun protection and sufficient water. Moreover, the beach offers little in terms of amenities, with no cafes or restaurants in the vicinity. However, a beach bar located in the central part of the beach provides refreshments and a variety of food options.
There is an area designated for parking, but visitors are encouraged to come prepared for a bit of a walk, as the beach is accessible via a dusty and rocky road. Despite its popularity, the beach maintains a tranquil environment, providing an ideal setting for relaxation and enjoyment.
