Cala del Solitari

Cala del Solitari is a picturesque beach located in the municipality of Mont-roig del Camp, in the Tarragona region of Catalonia, Spain. Known for its natural beauty, it is nestled in a protected nature zone, surrounded by pine trees and overlooked by a watchtower perched atop a cliff. The beach is characterized by its small size, measuring 20 meters in width and 120 meters in length, and is renowned for its golden sand and crystal-clear waters. The beach's seclusion and small size contribute to its typically uncrowded nature even during peak season. Visitors can enjoy the moderate waves and the pristine environment, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and taking photographs, particularly during sunset. Access to the beach, however, can be challenging. The nearest road is N-340, A-7, and from there, visitors must navigate a long staircase flanked by pine forests to reach the beach. This access route is not equipped for individuals with disabilities or those with prams or strollers. Public transportation is available in the area for those who prefer not to walk. Despite its natural charm, Cala del Solitari lacks certain amenities. Although there are showers on the beach, they are not always operational. Additionally, there are no public toilets available on the beach, despite signage indicating their presence. Visitors should also note that the sea access is quite steep and there are many stones near the shore, so it is recommended to wear sandals or shoes when entering the water. For those driving, parking is typically easy to find on the street next to the staircase leading to the beach. There is also a beachside bar available for visitors, providing a place to relax and enjoy the stunning surroundings.
