Plage d'Herlin

Plage d'Herlin is a family-friendly beach nestled in the town of Bangor, Morbihan, in the Brittany region of France. It is a sandy cove situated at the confluence of three valleys, a feature typical of the region known as an aber or ria. This beach is split into two sections during high tide.

Plage d'Herlin is popular for various beach activities, yet it maintains its wild and rural character throughout the year. Despite its popularity, particularly during the summer holidays, it typically offers ample space for visitors. The beach is surrounded by low cliffs and preserved dunes, providing some shade in the late afternoon and contributing to its cosy atmosphere.

Swimmers should be cautious at Plage d'Herlin as there can be strong currents, particularly on the sides of the beach, and patches of soft sand on the sea floor. The beach is monitored by lifeguards from 1 pm to 7 pm during the summer for the safety of visitors.

Visitors can reach Plage d'Herlin through several paths. It is advised to park in a nearby parking lot and take a short walk of approximately 400 meters to reach the beach. However, the beach is not accessible for people with reduced mobility.

At certain times, visitors can find wild mussels and goose barnacles on the beach. Dogs are not allowed on the beaches in Belle Île, including Plage d'Herlin. Despite being a popular beach, Plage d'Herlin is known for its tranquility and natural beauty, including its stunning rock formations, making it a beloved destination in Bangor.
