Dunwich Beach

Dunwich Beach is a public beach located along a beautiful stretch of coastline. It is characterized by its wide, mainly shingle and stone beach, with cliffs on one side. The beach is perfect for walking and beachcombing, and is particularly popular with dog walkers. It is also a great place for long walks beside the sea, cycling through forests, or spending hours quietly watching some of the UK's rarest wildlife, thanks to the beautiful landscape of the nearby National Trust Dunwich Heath. The beach is equipped with several amenities for visitors. There is a restaurant with outdoor seating near the beach, as well as a small section selling ice creams and lollies. A building near the entrance/exit of the car park houses the public toilets, which are kept clean. There are also a couple of benches for seating. Parking at Dunwich Beach is free, with plenty of spaces available, although it can get busy. Despite this, the beach is known for its tranquil atmosphere, often attracting those wanting to avoid the crowds. The beach itself is a stone beach, with sand at and below the waterline. It is recommended to wear rubber/plastic 'water shoes' for walking on the rocky shorelines.
