The beach is approximately 300 meters long and offers scenic views of the salt marshes of the Isla Cristina Natural Area and Punta del Moral. Despite being an urban beach, Playa de El Cantil is part of a protected area, prohibiting fishing activities, including catching small crabs that inhabit the nearby rocks. However, the presence of these crabs can offer entertainment, especially for children.
While there are no beach services such as showers, hammocks, or beachside cafes, visitors can find eateries and cafes in the nearby Cantil neighborhood and marina. Additionally, there are recreational amenities like a diving center and a Jet Ski shop in the nearby marina.
Playa de El Cantil is known for its calm and warmer waters, making it an ideal destination for families. Access to the beach is only possible on foot via the promenade, which is lined with several bars and cafes. Visitors can also enjoy a unique experience by watching the sunset from the beach. Throughout much of the year, the setting sun reflects in the estuary, creating a reddish tone in the sky.
