Fava Beach

Fava Beach is a beautiful sandy beach located in Vourvourou, on the third peninsula of Halkidiki, known as Athos. The beach is known for its fine, clean sand and clear waters with shades of blue and turquoise. The water entry is rocky and the depth increases relatively quickly, making it a great spot for swimming. The beach is surrounded by rocks that invite exploration and is also a popular spot for collecting Sea Glass. The beach is unorganized, meaning there are no beach bars, restaurants, or toilets available. Visitors are advised to bring their own umbrellas, food, and drinks if they plan to spend the day. Despite the lack of amenities, the beach is still highly recommended for its tranquility and beauty. Parking at Fava Beach is free and easily accessible. From the parking spot, the main beach is less than a two-minute walk. For those seeking more secluded spots, there are a succession of smaller beaches to the left of the main beach. Alternatively, visitors can walk through the water to the right to find even more sandy beaches. Fava Beach is not typically crowded, even during the summer months. However, visitors have noted the presence of small pieces of plastic in the water, which is a concern for the otherwise pristine environment. Despite this, the beach is still highly recommended for its natural beauty and tranquility.
