Flushing Beach

Flushing Beach is a local favorite located in a sheltered area. The beach is known for its clean environment and good quality sand. It's a bit of a walk from the main road, which can be challenging for those with mobility issues. The path leading down to the beach is uneven and almost cobbled, making it less ideal for wheelchairs, although it has been traversed by less abled individuals with care. During the peak summer season, parking can be problematic. The road leading to the beach is narrow and shared with residential areas, making it difficult for larger vehicles to turn around or reverse. Visitors are advised to be mindful of this when planning their trip. The beach does not have toilet facilities, so visitors should plan accordingly. The nearest shop is in Flushing, so it's recommended to pack drinks and snacks if planning to spend the day. The beach also features a pier, which is ideal for an easy access swim, especially during high tide. The area surrounding Flushing Beach offers beautiful scenery and is great for walks. There are quaint little roads, and a walk from Flushing to Mylor along the seashore provides opportunities for exploring rocks, pools, and shells. The route then cuts through open fields to Kiln Beach and back to Flushing along the roadside. This walk is particularly enjoyed by children and dogs. However, some parts of the route have hills and tracks without pavements. At high tide, the beach area can be significantly reduced. The beach is also a beautiful spot to watch the sunset.
