Frouzis Beach

Frouzis Beach is a small and wild beach situated within the boundaries of the Ierapetra Municipal Unit. The beach is well-known for its strikingly clear waters, which can be quite cold during the early parts of the year like in May. The terrain of Frouzis Beach is predominantly rocky, filled with numerous stones, contributing to its unique appeal for photography enthusiasts. However, the natural splendor of the beach can sometimes be tarnished by the presence of garbage in the sea.

The beach does not provide any facilities, hence visitors are encouraged to bring their own necessities, including sun umbrellas for shade. In addition, Frouzis Beach is a suitable location for swimming, particularly for individuals who take pleasure in exploring coves. Nonetheless, due to the rocky terrain, wearing swimming shoes is recommended for safety purposes.

The beach can be accessed via a 100-meter gravel road. Unfortunately, this road may not be appropriate for all types of vehicles. Those who own 4x4 vehicles will find the road more navigable. Despite these accessibility challenges, Frouzis Beach can still be enjoyed by those who come prepared for the adventure. However, due to the lack of amenities and difficult access, the beach is not typically crowded.
