Hornsea Beach

Hornsea Beach, situated in the town of Hornsea in Yorkshire, is a charming seaside destination recognized for its picturesque landscapes and diverse recreational opportunities. The beach itself is a blend of sand and pebbles, with the golden sands of the East Riding coast stretching out to the south. To the north, visitors can admire the scenic views of Flamborough Headland from the tiered promenade that runs along the landward side of the beach. This promenade, which has been recently updated, is split into an upper and lower section, providing easy access for wheelchair users from the road.

The beach is a popular starting or end point for the Trans Pennine Trail, a route that passes near Hornsea Mere, Yorkshire's largest freshwater lake. This lake, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, offers a range of activities including rowing, sailing, fishing, and motorboat trips. Bird watchers can also enjoy the rich avian life at Hornsea Mere.

Parking facilities are available at large pay and display car parks near the leisure centre, which provide easy pedestrian access to the town. However, visitors should be aware that traffic can get busy at times. The beach itself is also accessible from nearby locations, making it a convenient option for day trips.
