İğneada Mert Gölü Sahili, located in İğneada, Kırklareli, Turkey, is a serene beach tucked away in the Longoz Forests National Park, which spans 3155 hectares. The park, established as Turkey's 39th National Park on November 13, 2007, is divided into two sections by the town center of İğneada. The southern part encompasses Saka Lake, Deniz Lake, Hamam Lake, Pedina Lake, and Mert Lake, along with the surrounding reed areas, Longoz forests, and deciduous forests. The northern section consists of Erikli Lake and its surrounding reed areas, as well as the surrounding Longoz forests.
The beach is located near the Bulgarian border on the Black Sea coast, 27 km from the Demirköy district, 97 km from Kırklareli city center, and 237 km from Istanbul. This coastal area is part of a Longoz (subasar) type of forested area, which is predominantly covered with water during the high rainfall seasons of spring and winter.
İğneada Mert Gölü Sahili offers a calm and peaceful beach experience, characterized by its tranquil atmosphere and natural beauty. The beach is known for its extensive coastline and is not typically crowded. It is unique in that it is not shallow enough for children to enter until about 50 meters in, but at around 20 meters, the water becomes knee-deep, making it enjoyable for families as well. The beach is also characterized by a wavy sea, a typical feature of the Black Sea.
The beach offers a few amenities including a small number of restaurants and a cafe, which provides showers and umbrellas for a fee. However, visitors should be prepared for a walk from the parking area at the canoe part of Mert Lake to the beach. Despite its proximity to the city center, the beach lacks certain facilities such as a water WC cabin.
