Kavalourko Beach

Kavalourko Beach, located on the northern side of an island, is a peaceful and remote location known for its tranquility and natural beauty. The beach is characterized by its distinct clear waters, interspersed with patches of seaweed, and unique rock formations. Among these formations is a notable carving of Aiolos, adding to the beach's charm. The beach is also home to a few trees offering shade, although securing a spot under them requires early arrival due to their limited number. Reaching Kavalourko Beach involves a challenging journey down a dirt road that requires careful maneuvering, particularly for city cars. The road, which passes through Stafida beach, concludes with a stretch of slippery cement. Due to the limited parking availability and the difficulty of turning a car around at the end of the road, visitors are advised to park as soon as the beach comes into view. Once parked, it's a 10-15 minute walk to reach the beach. In addition to its natural beauty, Kavalourko Beach also boasts a picturesque view of the small Panormos harbour and is situated adjacent to a small island colloquially known as 'the planet'. The beach is a short walk from Agia Thalassa, providing an additional point of interest for visitors. Despite its relative isolation, Kavalourko Beach is popular among nudists and the gay community. However, given its seclusion, the area can become quite warm, and visitors are advised to bring along an umbrella for shade.
