Kirby's Beach

Kirby's Beach is a beautiful golden-sand beach, known for its dunes and rocks that are perfect for exploration. The beach is accessible via two convenient points at Myrniong Grove. The first access point offers car parking near Pope Street, while the second is a narrow passage between 12 and 14 Myrniong Grove, both leading down to the sands via steps. The beach is bounded by rocky reefs on the north and south, which are worth exploring during low tide. These reefs are also home to a variety of fossils, adding an element of discovery to your visit. Kirby's Beach is also a continuation of Cudmirrah Beach, with a separate entrance down from the road in Berrara, offering a pleasant walk from Cudmirrah Beach. Kirby's Beach is known for its tranquility and is often not crowded, providing a peaceful beach experience. The beach is abundant with shells, adding to its natural charm. However, it's worth noting that Kirby's Beach can be a wild ocean beach at times, with a pounding swell and rip currents. As such, it may not be suitable for young families. Despite this, it's a great place for a walk, to view the blue bottles and crabs, and even for fishing at times, although it's recommended to avoid southerly and easterly winds due to washed up seaweeds.
