KocaHasanlı Halk Plajı, also known as Erdemli, is a public beach located in Turkey. It has been recognized with the Blue Flag certification in 2022 and 2023, indicating that it meets high environmental and quality standards.
The beach stretches over a length of 55 km and a width of 55 meters. The terrain of the beach does not include sand, pebbles, or rocky areas, and there are no wooden piers or concrete platforms present. It is not associated with any sensitive areas such as nature reserves, archaeological sites, or turtle nesting areas. Despite its natural beauty, the beach does not provide facilities for beach sports or water sports.
KocaHasanlı Halk Plajı is equipped with facilities catering to people with disabilities. This includes a disabled toilet and a ramp for wheelchair access. However, there are no special sun loungers or umbrellas for people with disabilities, and there is no elevator from the pier to the sea. There are also no floating wheelchairs available for visually impaired people to access the sea.
The beach is accessible by public transportation, with a travel time of approximately 40 minutes from the city center. It is situated 117 km from the nearest airport and 40 km from the city center.
KocaHasanlı Halk Plajı is known for its peaceful atmosphere and pristine natural environment. Visitors can enjoy long walks on the beach and find tranquility to relax and clear their minds. However, the cleanliness and affordability of the beach have been noted as areas for improvement.
During the Blue Flag season, which runs from May 15th to September 30th, the beach is monitored and sampled by the Mersin Public Health Directorate. The beach does not hold any other national or international certifications such as Green Key, ISO 9001, ISO 22000, ISO 14001, ISO 10002, OHSAS 18001, Travelife, or Yeşil Yıldız.
Despite being a public beach, KocaHasanlı Halk Plajı does not get overly crowded, making it an ideal destination for those seeking a serene holiday experience. The beach also has small parks and picnic areas in its vicinity, adding to its appeal as a relaxing getaway.
