Küçükkuyu Halk Plajı is a public beach situated in Ayvacık, Çanakkale, near the border of Çanakkale and Balıkesir. It is located in the Mıhlı area and is within the tourism region of Marmara, serving as the starting point of the Aegean region. The beach is an approximate distance of 5 kilometers from the city center and 35 kilometers from the nearest airport, making it easily accessible to locals and tourists alike. Public transportation is also available, with an approximate travel time of 10 minutes from the city center.
The beach, known for its pebbles rather than sand, stretches 100 meters in length and 50 meters in width. It is directly accessible from the sea and does not feature any rocky areas. A wooden pier is also available for use. Despite its size, the beach is not overly crowded, offering a peaceful spot for beachgoers. It is important to note that the beach does not connect to any sensitive areas such as protected natural sites, archaeological sites, or sea turtle nesting areas, and does not offer beach or water sports.
Küçükkuyu Halk Plajı is equipped with facilities for people with disabilities, including a ramp for wheelchair access. However, it does not provide accessible toilets, sunbeds, or umbrellas specifically designed for people with disabilities, and there are no specific facilities for visually impaired individuals to access the sea. It is recommended that visitors bring their own beach umbrellas for shade.
The beach is in close proximity to major supermarket chains, making it convenient for visitors to purchase food and drinks. Additionally, it offers stunning views of a nearby lake, particularly in the evening when the moon shines over the lake. The beach is recognized for its clean air and energy storage.
Managed by the Küçükkuyu Municipality, the beach's water samples are taken and analyzed by the Çanakkale Public Health Directorate. Despite not holding any national or international certifications, the beach has been awarded the Blue Flag for several consecutive years, which is displayed from June 30th to September 15th.
