Kurstrand Hohwacht is a well-kept beach located at the end of the beach road, just a few meters from the promenade. The beach is characterized by its fine sandy terrain, although there are some areas with typical Baltic Sea gravel, particularly in the surf area. The coast at Hohwacht also features a small bay with very shallow water where smaller boats anchor. A surf school offers courses for beginners and advanced surfers in this area. A small pier at the entrance to the bay offers a beautiful view for walkers. The shallow water area is divided every few hundred meters by stone breakwaters that reach a few meters into the water. There are also sections of the beach designated for dogs. In terms of amenities, there are snack bars near the beach offering a variety of food options, including fish rolls, bratwurst, burgers, and fries. There is also an ice cream parlor serving homemade ice cream cones and other sweet treats. Further into town, there are additional dining options, a tourist information office, and a doctor's office. Parking is available near the beach, and beach chairs can be rented for those who prefer them over a beach towel. Despite these amenities, the beach is not typically overcrowded, even during peak seasons. However, the beach's natural characteristics can vary, with occasional algae presence reported.
