Plage de la Palue is a scenic beach located near the town of Crozon on the western side of the Crozon Peninsula, within the Brittany region of France. This beach is known for its broad stretch of yellow-white sand, surrounded by low cliffs, which lends it a secluded ambiance. Facing the Atlantic Ocean, this beach also offers mesmerising views of the rocky Ăle GuĂ©nĂ©ron.
The beach's natural charm is further enhanced by the presence of a rocky area that is revealed during low tide. It is also known for its captivating waves and breathtaking sunsets, making it an ideal spot for nature enthusiasts. However, during high tides, a significant part of the beach is temporarily submerged, and strong waves can make swimming unsafe in certain areas. For this reason, swimming is prohibited during high tides and in specific zones even during low tide due to challenging water streams. Despite these restrictions, Plage de la Palue remains a popular spot for surfers, particularly during the high season.
At low tide, Plage de la Palue extends to the neighboring beach of Plage Lostmarc'h to the north, a locale frequented by naturists. Visitors to Plage de la Palue can reach the beach by foot from Morgat, following a scenic nature trail. This path, which passes by a mineral house, leads to the beach, which remains untouched by buildings or concrete structures.
Despite its natural beauty and appeal, Plage de la Palue has limited parking facilities, which can pose a slight inconvenience for visitors. Nonetheless, the beach's pristine environment, combined with its unique natural characteristics, continues to draw visitors seeking a serene and picturesque seaside experience.
