Plage de la Raguette is a public beach situated in the La Napoule neighborhood of Mandelieu-la-Napoule, in the Alpes-Maritimes region of France. The beach is nestled by the roadside and is characterized by its sandy areas with a rocky dike, providing a natural beauty to its landscape. Its location in front of the castle of La Napoule adds to its charm.
Access to the beach can be a bit challenging due to its indirect access, which makes it less crowded than other beaches. It can be reached through a small residential street perpendicular to Avenue du 23 Août, or by following the coastal path to either the Château de La Napoule or the Rague beach. A trail that climbs up also provides access to the beach, offering breathtaking views over the sea.
The beach is equipped with a range of amenities, including public toilets, showers, and an emergency call point. There is also a snack bar on the beach, offering a selection of sandwiches, and restaurants are available in the nearby La Napoule neighborhood. One of the unique features of the beach is its non-smoking policy.
Parking options are available near the beach. There is a small parking lot behind the railway tracks, although it only has a few spaces. Another option is to park at the Jacques Soustelle parking lot. Alternatively, a free shuttle service drops visitors just meters away from the beach at the Bus stop Plage de la Raguette.
The beach is also child-friendly. The presence of a dike makes the beach suitable for children, and the water rises very slowly. However, during the summer months, the beach can get a bit crowded.
Despite its proximity to a small road about 30 meters away and the noise from passing trains, Plage de la Raguette is a pleasant beach offering a mix of natural beauty and convenience. However, it is important to note that all beaches in the city, including Plage de la Raguette, are prohibited for dogs.
