Plage de la Tossen

Plage de la Tossen is a small, sandy beach located in Paimpol, a commune in the Côtes-d'Armor department in Bretagne, France. It is situated near the GR® 34 hiking trail and the port of Paimpol, providing easy access to the city center. The beach is nestled in the center of the Guilben point and extends into the Paimpol bay, offering stunning views of the Ploubazlanec coast and neighboring islands. The beach is renowned for its natural seawater reservoir or tidal pool, which allows for swimming at any time, regardless of the tidal conditions. This feature, along with its shallow depth, makes it a safe and family-friendly place for swimming. The water is kept clean, and the beach is supervised by lifeguards during the summer months of July and August, further ensuring the safety of its visitors. Plage de la Tossen is surrounded by lush greenery and is accessible even at high tide. At low tide, small sandy coves appear on the left side of the beach, adding to its charm. Despite its beauty and unique features, the beach is not overly crowded, particularly before 2 pm, making it a relaxing and peaceful spot. Getting to Plage de la Tossen from the Paimpol port involves a short walk. Visitors can follow the Kernoa quay northwards, turn right onto Rue du Four à Chaux for approximately 350 meters, and then turn left onto Rue de la Tossen. Free parking is available about 250 meters from the beach, offering convenience for those driving to the location.
