Plage de la Vieille Nouvelle

Plage de la Vieille Nouvelle is a tranquil beach located in Port-la-Nouvelle, in the Aude department of the Languedoc-Roussillon region in France. Less than two hours away from Toulouse, it serves as a serene escape for both locals and tourists. The beach is characterized by its natural beauty, encompassing clean, clear waters and fine sandy shores. It is bordered by preserved dunes and forms part of a nature reserve, lending to its wild and unspoiled ambiance.

Due to its remote location and expansive size, the beach is less frequented and offers visitors plenty of room for relaxation. This makes it an ideal spot for those seeking a peaceful beach experience away from the usual crowded tourist spots. Despite its low attendance, it is easily accessible. Access to the beach is through the port area, with clear directions leading to Plage de la Vieille Nouvelle.

The beach has a parking area that can accommodate up to 150 vehicles, including cars with trailers for kite surfing. However, motorized vehicles are not allowed on the beach, ensuring that its natural tranquility is preserved. As such, visitors are encouraged to reach the beach by foot from the parking area.

While the beach is not monitored by lifeguards, it does have an emergency call station available from June 1st to September 30th. This ensures that help can be quickly summoned in case of an emergency.

Plage de la Vieille Nouvelle is pet-friendly, allowing dogs on the beach provided they are kept on a leash. However, restrictions are in place during certain periods, and visitors are encouraged to bring a waste bag to help keep the beach clean.

Despite its serene environment and stunning views, there are no commercial amenities or facilities available on the beach. As such, visitors are advised to come prepared with their own necessities.
