Praia da Ladeira, also known as Playa A Ladeira or Playa Ladeira, is a semi-urban beach located in the municipality of Ribeira, A Coruña, Galicia, Spain. The beach is situated on the coast of the RĂa de Arosa, forming part of the dune complex of Corrubedo and Lagoons of Carregal and VixĂĄn.
The beach is approximately 1,350 meters long and 25 meters wide, with a smaller section measuring about 500 meters in length and 200 meters in width. It is known for its fine white sand, moderate waves, and crystal clear, calm waters. The beach features a large sandbank and shell remains, adding to its natural beauty. Despite its popularity, the beach retains a relaxed atmosphere as it does not become overly crowded, even during peak season.
Praia da Ladeira is family-friendly due to its shallow waters and the sandbank that provides protection from strong waves. The beach conditions are also suitable for surfing. Additionally, there are hiking routes around the dunes and the picturesque town of Corrubedo, which features a spectacular lighthouse.
The beach offers several amenities for visitors. These include showers, toilets, beach bars, and restaurants. For those with disabilities, there is also access provided.
There is an unguarded parking lot with less than 50 spaces available for beachgoers. However, it should be noted that there is a walk of about 2 kilometers from the parking lot to the beach. If planning a longer stay in the area, a nearby campsite offers accommodation.
Praia da Ladeira is easily accessible by foot and car. Public transportation to the beach is also available, making it a convenient destination for both locals and tourists.
