Playa de las Gaviotas, situated in the Spanish municipality of Fuengirola, is known for its picturesque shoreline and extensive sandy area. Despite its popularity, it is not overly crowded, especially during off-peak months such as September.

Additionally, it is monitored by lifeguards for the safety of beachgoers. For those arriving by car, parking facilities are available.
The beach is easily accessible via various modes of transport. Visitors can reach it on foot from Fuengirola, by car, or by bus from the municipality. It is also well connected to the rest of the Costa del Sol through the Mediterranean highway (A-7; N-340) and the C-2 suburban train, providing straightforward access from the airport, Málaga, Torremolinos, or Benalmádena.
The waters at Playa de las Gaviotas are generally very calm, making it a suitable destination for families. However, the inclination of the entrance to the water and the presence of stones can create sinkholes, which may pose difficulties for older people.
While the beach is generally well-maintained, there have been concerns about litter, particularly cigarette butts, left in the sand. Despite these occasional issues, Playa de las Gaviotas was awarded the Blue Flag in 2021, indicating its commitment to meeting high environmental and quality standards.
