Playa Las Palmas

Playa Las Palmas is a beautiful, pristine beach known for its large sand bar and huge waves, making it a popular spot for body surfing. The beach is located in a small cove, which provides a consistent breeze. The beach is also home to a variety of wildlife, including sand crabs and wild horses. However, visitors are advised not to bring food as the horses are known to approach humans in search of it. The beach is accessed through a palm forest, described by many as a magical wonderland. The owner of the land, Rodolpho, maintains the parking lot and the trails leading to the beach. The parking lot is located a distance away from the beach, and visitors are advised not to leave valuables in their vehicles. The road leading to the beach is closed right before sunset, although the gate is not locked, allowing visitors to leave at their convenience. However, the road is known to be bumpy and has many large potholes, so caution is advised when driving, especially after dark. The beach is not usually crowded, with only a few groups of visitors at a time. However, it can get busier around 11 am. The beach is shallow very far out, making it fun for hopping in the waves. However, parents are advised to keep their children close due to the strong waves. There are also small biting bugs in the dry sand areas, so it is recommended to stay on the damp sand to avoid them.
