Plage du Loc'h

Plage du Loc'h is a picturesque beach located in Guidel, a commune in the Brittany region of France. It is celebrated for its stunning natural beauty, characterized by its fine grains of sand and pebbles, and a sky that frequently showcases a spectrum of beautiful colours. The beach's natural features extend beyond the shoreline, with the Loch ponds forming a large freshwater marsh on the other side of the road. This marsh serves as a nature reserve that is ideal for hiking enthusiasts.

Plage du Loc'h is especially well-known for its excellent surf conditions. The regular, beautiful waves it produces make it a favoured spot for surfers and bodyboarders, and it is even used for surfing competitions. Despite the occasionally large waves, it is still considered a family-friendly beach, suitable for children who are water smart and under close supervision. Lifeguards patrol the beach during the summer months, specifically July and August, to ensure the safety of swimmers.

In terms of amenities, Plage du Loc'h has a designated parking area that can accommodate up to eight camping cars. The parking area is reasonably level, although it can become dry and dusty. From here, the beach is just a two-minute walk away. While there are no toilet facilities at the beach, a recycling bin is provided for visitors to dispose of their waste responsibly.

While Plage du Loc'h is a popular destination for beachgoers, its spaciousness prevents it from feeling overcrowded. It offers ample space for a variety of beach activities, exploration around the rocks, or simply to relax and enjoy the surf.
