Playa Los Bigotes is an isolated pebble and gravel beach located in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana. It is recognized for its moderate waves and is situated at the base of a cliff, within a protected area known as ZEC. The beach is known for its fairly clear waters due to the rocky bottom, which is home to a variety of marine life, including parrotfish, sea bream, salps, black roaches, and sea cows. As a result, it is a popular spot for snorkeling enthusiasts.
The beach, with a width of 18 meters and a length of 75 meters, tends to have a medium occupancy rate during peak season, with 30% to 70% of the cove being occupied. This is possibly due to its secluded location and lack of proper signage. Despite its popularity, especially on Sundays when many motorhomes are seen nearby, the beach maintains its cleanliness and tranquility. During off-peak times such as February, it is even possible to have the beach all to oneself.
Playa Los Bigotes is easily accessible and located near a parking area, providing convenience for visitors traveling by car. Its calm and peaceful atmosphere, coupled with its natural beauty, makes it an ideal location for family outings. However, visitors are advised that swimming conditions can be affected by high waves.
In terms of amenities, there is a healthcare center known as San Roque located 5.6 km away from the beach, providing non-emergency and emergency medical assistance. Additionally, the Puerto Deportivo de Arguineguín, a marina and port, is situated approximately 3.2 km away.
