Efforts are made to keep the seaweed at bay, with people hired to clear it out and net dividers installed in some areas. Despite these efforts, the seaweed remains a notable feature of the beach.
Amenities at Mahahual Beach include clean restrooms and a variety of local street vendors offering fresh fruit, street tacos, and corn cups. Visitors are advised to bring cash for these vendors, as bartering is common. There are also numerous restaurants, shops, and services available along the beach.
Getting to Mahahual Beach is relatively straightforward, with a short cab ride required from the cruise terminal. Once there, visitors can choose their spot on the beach.
