Mega Drafi Beach, also known as Mega Trafi, is a small, secluded beach located in an open bay near Syvota, towards the south. The beach is characterized by its pebbly and sandy terrain, with small pebbles in the water for the first 5 meters, followed by large boulders. The water at Mega Drafi Beach is known for its crystal clear blue color, providing visibility of at least 15 meters, making it an ideal location for snorkeling and diving.
The beach is accessible by car and offers free parking for visitors. It is equipped with amenities such as a beach bar and a simple tavern serving traditional Greek dishes. The beach also provides some natural shade for visitors seeking respite from the sun. However, the beach is not recommended for those seeking a large, modern beach experience.
The underwater landscape at Mega Drafi Beach is unique, with rock walls descending directly to the sea bottom. The right side of the beach features deep water and a rocky shore that goes vertically into the water to a depth of 5-8 meters. This side of the beach lacks shelter and a bottom platform for at least 400 meters, making it less pleasant for snorkeling when there are waves. On the other hand, the left side of the beach offers more resting opportunities as the shoreline is not as vertical in the water. After about 150 meters, visitors can reach a small beach called Micro Trafi, which features some coves. Another 300 meters further, there is a very tiny beach located in a narrow small bay.
Despite its small size, Mega Drafi Beach is a popular spot for swimming, particularly in the nearby caves. However, visitors are advised to visit in the morning as the water tends to get dirty with trash and rubbish in the afternoon.
