Cala Morisca

Cala Morisca is a scenic cove located to the north of Sitges, nestled under the cliffs of Garraf Park. The cove is well-known for its naturist-friendly ambiance and is situated on the Barcelona coast, near the C-31, also known as the "Coastal road," connecting Sitges to Barcelona. The beach itself is a blend of fine sand and rocks, creating a unique semi-wild aspect enhanced by the minimal vegetation on the surrounding rock walls. The beach's natural beauty is characterized by its soft sand, clean and crystal-clear water, and the picturesque natural surroundings. However, the beach has been shrinking in size due to the sea washing away much of the sand. Cala Morisca stretches 140 meters in length and fifty meters in width. It has held the Quality Certificate since 1997, indicating it meets certain standards for safety, cleanliness, and environmental management. Despite its size, the beach is usually able to accommodate its visitors, even on busy weekends. The beach is less crowded during weekdays, providing a more serene experience for those seeking tranquility. Access to the beach is only possible on foot, starting from the high part of the rocks, where a terraced restaurant is located. This restaurant, functioning as a disco during the summer season, offers pleasant views of the surrounding landscape. However, it's important to note that the restaurant is usually closed outside the high season, making access to the cove more challenging. Visitors to Cala Morisca must park their vehicles on the road and descend a long staircase to reach the cove. There's a private paid parking facility available for visitors, but it's not well-maintained and closes around 19h. Free parking is not available in the area, and access to the beach has been made more difficult due to the installation of a gate at the entrance. In terms of amenities, Cala Morisca provides facilities such as toilets and showers, and deckchair rental services. However, the portable toilet provided is not well-maintained. Also, the beach used to have a beach bar, but it is currently closed. Therefore, visitors are advised to bring their own food and drinks, as there are no other options for refreshments on-site. Furthermore, it's important to note that taxi services may not be available from this location.
