Plage Naturiste de la Batterie is a naturist beach located in Cannes, specifically in the area of Vallauris, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France. The beach is situated along Avenue du Maréchal Juin, between the town of Pointe Croisette and a Total station. Naturism is generally prohibited in Cannes, but the municipality tolerates it in this specific location.
The beach is split into three parts. The first is the largest, made up of sand and pebbles, and offers a stunning view of the bay of Juan les Pins. The other two beaches are smaller and consist of fine sand. They can be accessed by continuing down a set of stairs and following a small dirt path. The terrain of the beach is also characterized by large, flat rocks, and the water is shallow for about 20 meters out with a depth of approximately 1-1.5 meters.
The beach is managed by Club Horizon, under the reference of the Fédération Naturiste du Nord (FNN). Despite its small size, visitors can find secluded spots by walking a bit further along the beach. A shower is also available for rinsing off sea water.
The beach can get very crowded during the season, especially on weekends. It is recommended to arrive early and avoid going in the evening.
As for parking, there used to be a small parking lot, but it is now inaccessible. Parking for motorbikes, motorcycles, or scooters can be found near the northern staircase. Car parking is available behind the gas station or in the nearby streets of Pointe Croisette. From there, a 1.5km sidewalk trail leads to the beach. To locate the beach, visitors can follow the sea along Avenue du Maréchal Juin until reaching the Total station, where they will notice a small blue gate along which there is a staircase and a tunnel that passes under the road, leading to the first beach.
