Plage Nord

Plage Nord is a beautiful beach located at Saint-Cyprien-Plage. It extends from the end of the built-up area at the northern end of the resort right up to the canal that allows water in and out of the Etang de Canet-Saint-Nazaire, making it approximately 2 km long. Despite its proximity to the town, Plage Nord is a wild beach, offering a simple and unspoiled beach experience. There are no bars, pedaloes, or other amenities, and visitors are warned that there are no lifeguards, making bathing potentially dangerous.

The beach is easily accessible from the main road, with marked parking bays available on the sea side. Between the road and the beach is an area of protected dunes. While these dunes are not high, they do limit free access across this protected area. However, there are paths leading to the beach, which can be recognized by the fencing alongside them. The prime parking spots are located near these paths.

The beach itself is of high quality, with fairly pale and fine sand. There are no sharp stones at the water's edge, and the beach is not too deep, making it easy for visitors to set up their sunshade and suncream. A windbreak may be necessary when the Tramontane wind is blowing. The beach is a textile beach, meaning visitors are not expected to be nude.

Plage Nord: Weather Today

📅 Monday, June 8, 2026
Today is a mediocre day for a visit to Plage Nord, as the conditions are rather unsettled. While you might catch some breaks of sunshine, expect persistent light drizzle throughout the day. The air temperature will reach a maximum of 23.6 °C, and with a UV Index of 7.7, sun protection remains essential even through the clouds. It is quite breezy out there today, which might make lounging on the sand less comfortable. The sea temperature is 21.1 °C, so while it is technically warm enough for a quick dip, the choppy water and light rain suggest it is not the ideal day for a relaxing swim. Overall, it is a better day for a brisk walk along the shore than for a full day of sunbathing.
