North Bay Beach

North Bay Beach is a well-kept, sandy beach located in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. The beach is known for its natural beauty, offering great views of the sea, especially during rainy days. It is also characterized by rocks at one end that become exposed during low tide, providing an opportunity for visitors to explore rock pools. The beach is lined with colorful beach huts and a promenade that extends all the way into the main harbour, making it ideal for long walks. It is popular among dog walkers and families, and is generally quieter than the south side of Scarborough. Amenities at North Bay Beach include public toilets and several shops and cafes, some of which are dog-friendly. Among these is the Watermark cafe, known for its excellent coffee. There is also a pub located at the end of the beach, offering outdoor seating with views of the bay. Parking is available on the front, although it is noted to be quite expensive. Despite this, visitors have praised the cleanliness of the area, including the beach and the town of Scarborough as a whole. Visitors should be aware that the beach can be home to sand flies, particularly in October, which may be a nuisance to those not accustomed to them.
