Praia Do Olmo

Praia Do Olmo, also known as Playa de Os Olmos or Playa de A Cabana, is a beach situated in the vicinity of Ferrol, Spain, near the Ensenada de A Malata. The beach is situated in a tranquil and quiet area, surrounded by a lush green landscape that offers a picturesque view of the estuary. Visitors often find it to be an ideal spot for evening walks or runs due to its stunning night view. It is approximately a 40-minute walk from the town of Ferrol.

The beach extends across a sandy area of around 80 meters and is known for its calm waters. However, the estuary at Praia Do Olmo has been contaminated, leading to a ban on bathing in the beach's waters for over five years. Despite this, the beach continues to attract visitors, particularly during the summer months, due to its inherent beauty and serene atmosphere.

To enhance the visitor experience, Praia Do Olmo is equipped with various amenities. These include showers and seating areas, with two tables and wooden seats placed under the shade of trees. This provides a comfortable spot for visitors to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The beach is also adjacent to a wooded area, offering opportunities for leisurely walks.

Unfortunately, the beach has faced challenges with maintenance over the years. Issues such as overgrown vegetation, littering, and landslides have led to trees falling onto the beach. The wooden benches and tables have also been damaged, and the trash can structure has deteriorated. Despite these issues, the beach remains a popular spot for locals and tourists alike.
