Paralia Agios Nikitas

Paralia Agios Nikitas is a secluded beach located in South Herakleion, near the Libyan Sea. The beach is known for its tranquility and natural beauty, characterized by its rocky terrain and crystal-clear waters, making it an ideal spot for snorkeling. Reaching Paralia Agios Nikitas can be quite an adventure. The beach is accessible via a 16 km off-road journey, some parts of which are steep and near cliffs. This route may not be suitable for those who are not experienced drivers or those with a fear of heights. Alternatively, visitors can also reach the beach by boat from Tsoutsouras beach. Once at the location, visitors must descend over 200 steps, which pass through a monastery, to reach the sea. The relative difficulty in accessing the beach contributes to its peaceful and isolated atmosphere.
