Paralia Fakistra is a stunning beach located on the eastern coast of Pelion. Known for its wild, natural beauty, the beach offers a tranquil setting with calm, crystal clear waters. The beach is characterized by its stone composition, forming a cove-like appearance that is best appreciated from the cliffs above. The beach drops off into the water after about 5-10 meters, creating a churning effect that may pose a challenge for children and less confident swimmers. However, once past this 'shelf', the waters are very pleasant.
Access to the beach involves a bit of a journey. It requires a difficult drive, followed by a 10-20 minute walk down a steep path. Despite the challenging access, the beach is popular and can get crowded, especially in the afternoons. To avoid the crowds, it is recommended to visit early on weekdays. Alternatively, some visitors choose to access the beach by boat.
The beach is not equipped with many amenities, so visitors should come prepared. The sun tends to go behind after about 4/5 of the day, causing the temperature to cool down considerably. Despite these factors, the beauty and tranquility of Paralia Fakistra make it well worth the visit.
