Paralia Lenta

Paralia Lenta is a small beach located in the south of Iraklio. It is nestled between rocky hills, providing a picturesque setting for visitors. The beach is characterized by its pebbly surface, which gives way to soft sand approximately three meters into the sea. Despite its steep entry, the sea remains shallow for many meters further, making it a suitable location for swimming. However, the water is not shallow enough for small children unless they are closely supervised.

The beach is well-organized and offers free sunbeds for visitors. However, due to its small size, these can be in high demand. The beach is also home to several coffee bars and tavernas, providing plenty of options for meals. Despite these amenities, the beach is not always very clean, likely due to the high volume of visitors.

Access to the beach is facilitated by a well-maintained asphalt road, making it easily accessible even for rental cars. There is also a free car park available at the entrance to the village. The beach is best visited in early June or early September when it is less crowded. Despite its popularity, the beach maintains a secluded feel, akin to a small Cretan village, complete with shops and markets.
