Paralia Macherida

Paralia Macherida is a small, secluded beach located off the beaten path. It is known for its crystal clear water, making it a popular spot for swimming. The beach is primarily sandy, although it is surrounded by rocks where visitors often spread out. The view south to Chania is particularly notable. The beach is nudist-friendly, but it is not uncommon for visitors to wear swimwear. It is important to note that there are no amenities or facilities at the beach, so visitors are advised to bring their own drinks, snacks, and umbrellas for shade. Parking is available on the roadside, from where it is a short walk down a rocky path to reach the beach. The beach tends to be less crowded in the evenings, although it can get quite busy during the months of July and August. One downside is that boat trips often arrive at the beach for snorkeling, diving, and partying, which can sometimes disrupt the otherwise relaxed atmosphere.
