Peristeres Beach

Peristeres Beach is a small, beautiful sandy beach located west of the village of Plakias. It is known for its crystal clear waters, particularly during north or west winds. However, the water can become slightly muddy during a south wind. The beach's seabed is sandy at low depths and pebbled at greater depths. The beach is equipped with parasols, though they tend to be occupied quickly, suggesting an early visit might be beneficial. The beach is also characterized by its tranquility, being quite away from the crowds. It is described as a hidden gem, making it a favorite spot for locals. The beach is not entirely sandy, with a significant presence of pebbles. It also features a freshwater shower and a few umbrellas. The clear and transparent waters, even during windy conditions, make it a good spot for snorkeling. There are beautiful caves on the left side of the beach that can be explored with a mask and snorkel. Behind the beach, there is a taverna offering local food and drinks. Parking is available next to this establishment. The beach is approximately a 40-minute drive from Plakias. It is also noted for its historical significance during World War II. Some visitors have even described it as the best isolated beach for camping.
