Platja de Ferragut

Platja de Ferragut is a beach located on the western continuation of Platja de Cavalleria. It is known for its unique natural characteristics, including its soft, reddish sand and crystal clear water. The reddish color of the sand is due to the presence of red limestone rocks in the area, which also contribute to the unique gradations of water colors. The beach is semi-urbanized and wide, providing ample space for visitors. Despite its size, it can get very crowded, particularly during peak times. However, it is generally less frequented than its eastern neighbor, Platja de Cavalleria, and offers a slightly more isolated area further west. Platja de Ferragut is easily accessible, with a short walk required to reach it. There is a small staircase leading down to the beach, which may not be accessible for everyone. Free parking is available close to the beach, making it convenient for those traveling by car. While the beach is generally safe, jellyfish have been reported near the seashore on some occasions. Visitors are advised to be cautious when swimming.
